Meeting with Dr. J.A. Bruijn and Ms. C. Wijgers

The Ambassador.

Tuesday August 18 I had a friendly meeting with Prof. Dr Jan Anthonie Bruijn President of the Senate of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the new Ambassador of The United Kingdom of The Netherlands to Afghanistan, Ms. Caecillia Wijgers.

The Dutch Senate President pays special attention to Afghanistan and has supported various development projects including the exchange of experiences between Afghan and Dutch students and doctors which has led to good results. During a detailed conversation with the new Ambassador of the Netherlands, I found her an experienced and interested figure in development issues, especially the growth of the private sector. She will arrive in Kabul in early September. I am confident that with her deployment in various areas of development, including the strengthening of the Afghan private sector, both embassies will work together.
